How FCP Ltd uses personal data for Touchline Manager, the game and this website, written in plain English.
Who we are
Touchline Manager is developed by HOA Ltd and published by Fat Cigar Productions Ltd ("FCP Ltd"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 06931873), whose registered office is at 7 Lynwood Court, Priestlands Place, Lymington, Hampshire, SO41 9GA. We are the controller of the personal data described here, and we're registered with the Information Commissioner's Office ([ICO registration number]).
Questions, or anything you want us to do with your data: email hello@touchlinemanagergame.com.
The short version
- The game runs on your phone. Your saved games stay on your phone, and we don't see them.
- We only collect what you give us: your email, a beta application, or a child's details that a parent signs up.
- No adverts, no advertising trackers, and we don't sell or rent anyone's data.
- Children's details never include a photo or a full date of birth, and no football club sees them.
- You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
What we collect, and why
Email lists
If you ask us to tell you when TLM27 launches, or when girls' football is ready, we keep your email address and which list you joined. We use it only to send that news. Lawful basis: your consent. Unsubscribe from any email, or email us, and we delete it.
Beta testing
If you apply to test the game we keep your name, email, country, your phone's model and system version, the Google account on your Play Store if you're on Android, how much you play management games and which ones, and anything you write in the note. We use it to choose testers, to send TestFlight or Google Play invites, and to understand bugs on your kind of phone. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in testing the game properly, which you can object to at any time. We delete beta applications when the beta ends.
Your account
If you sign in on this website or in the game, we keep your email address and a record that you signed in. We send a 6-digit code instead of using a password. Lawful basis: to provide the service you asked for.
Children a parent signs up
A parent or legal guardian can add up to four children so they appear in the parent's own games. For each child we keep: name (and a known-as name, if given), birth month and year, nationality, shirt number, country, grassroots club and team, whether they play a year up, how good they are for their age group, height, the parents' heights if given, position, stronger foot, favourite club and two strengths. We also keep the consent choices the parent made and when.
We never collect a photo or a full date of birth. We use these details only to create the child as a player in the games the parent plays with the same email, and, only if the parent chooses, in the games of other families on the same team, or in other players' games with the name and birth year alone. We never publish a child's details or share them with any football club. Lawful basis: the parent's consent, which they can withdraw at any time by removing the child on this website or in the game. If an email is never linked to the game, we delete the child's details after [period].
Grassroots clubs
The game includes real grassroots clubs, built from information clubs publish themselves: name, town, colours, league and teams. If someone from a club claims its page, asks for a fix or asks us to remove it, we keep their name, email, role at the club and message so we can act on it. Clubs can ask us to remove their page at any time.
Reports and messages
If you report a problem or email us, we keep what you send and our reply, for as long as we need to deal with it.
Real footballers in the game
The game's database includes the names, clubs, positions, nationalities and dates of birth of real professional footballers and staff, taken from public sources, together with ratings we create. The ratings are our own opinion, made for a game, not a statement of fact about anyone.
Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in making a realistic football game, balanced against the fact that this information is already public. If you're in the database and want something corrected, or object to being included, email hello@touchlinemanagergame.com and we'll look at it promptly.
What stays on your phone
Your careers and saved games are stored on your device. They aren't uploaded to us. The game works offline. When it's online it checks for updates (new data, like squad changes) and, if you're signed in, downloads any children signed up to your account.
The age group you pick when you start the game stays on your phone. It isn't sent to us, or used for ads or profiling.
The game and this website don't use advertising, and don't use cookies to track you. The website uses no analytics cookies. If you sign in, a cookie keeps you signed in, and that is all it does.
How long we keep it
- Email lists: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Beta applications: until the beta ends.
- Accounts: until you delete your account. If an account isn't used for [period], we delete it.
- Children's details: until the parent removes them or deletes the account, or after [period] if the email is never linked to the game.
- Club contacts and reports: as long as we need them to deal with the request, then 12 months.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to: give you a copy of your data; correct it; delete it; limit how we use it; send it to you in a format you can reuse; and stop using it where we rely on legitimate interests. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, and that doesn't affect anything we did before.
Email hello@touchlinemanagergame.com. We'll answer within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Children
Only a parent or legal guardian can sign a child up, on this website or in the game. Beta testers must be 18 or over. We never ask a child under 13 for an email address.
Players aged 13 to 17 can add themselves to their own game as a player. Those details stay on their phone and are not sent to us. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without a parent's consent. If you think we have, email us and we'll delete it.
Keeping it safe
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access limited to the people who need it. Sign-in uses one-time codes, so there's no password to steal. If there's ever a breach that puts your data at risk, we'll tell you and the ICO as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use personal data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If a change matters, for example a new use of children's details, we'll tell you by email or in the game before it applies.
